Lawns are fertilized with high quality, long lasting granular and liquid fertilizers. The type of fertilizer we use is determined by the season and the lawn's requirements. Turf fertilizers are phosphorus-free to prevent phosphorus runoff into lakes. This practice makes perfect sense considering that phosphorus is the one mineral our Florida soils already have plenty of.
Chinch Bug control is standard but we don't accomplish this by "blanket spraying" each time. Instead we carefully inspect and then spot treat where necessary. We do the same for Mole Cricket and Sod Webworm control when needed. Fire ants are treated with bait when we are performing our regular services.
Weeds are best controlled by encouraging thick and vigorous turf. However, no lawn will remain weed free without some additional help. We carefully inspect and treat weeds wherever they are found. In the cooler months we apply preemergent weed control products, usually in the form of a "Weed n' Feed" type application. Weed control is never a simple process in central Florida St. Augustine grass. However, we feel our weed control results are unsurpassed in this area.
